C-section statistics for twins

For the "twinning" mom and dad amongst us, there was an interesting literature study (meaning no experiment was performed, only gathered the existing data) about the increasing rate of C-sections for twins published in the peer-reviewed medical journal Obstetrics and Gyneocology this month.

From the conclusion:
Cesarean delivery rates for twin births increased dramatically from 1995 to 2008. This increase is significantly higher than that which could be explained by an increase in cesarean delivery for breech presentation of either the presenting or second twin.

From the discussion of the study (which I was able to view earlier, but can't now for some reason):

"The dramatic rise in cesarean delivery rates for twins undoubtedly has adverse implications for maternal morbidity and health care costs. Curtailing elective cesarean deliveries in this cohort may prove to be beneficial for both the individual woman and society at large."
