Whole Wheat Banana Bread

Teaching my first Bradley class last night was awesome! My couples rock! I am so glad to finally get to impact people's lives with this valuable information and amazing design of pregnancy and birth!

One thing I think I would have changed about my first class would be... don't show such an intense birth right off the bat. It is hard to find good current birth videos, but what I think I should have done is brought in my own pics/video and told my own story for the first night. I hope I didn't scare my class too much! Childbirth really is wonderful, but a lot of hard work! Comments, people?

And now, here is the recipe from the snack I brought in... they devoured it, so it must have been good!

Whole Wheat Banana Bread

 1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs, slightly beaten
3 medium brown bananas (1 cup mashed)
1 cup regular all purpose flour (sift before measuring or subtract 2 TB from a cup of unsifted flour)
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp soda
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/3 cup hot water
1/2 cup chopped walnuts, pecans or chocolate chips (optional)

Preheat oven to 325. Melt butter and blend in sugar. Mix in beaten eggs wand mashed bananas, blending until smooth. Sift all purpose flour again with salt and soda. Stir in whole wheat flower. Add dry ingredients alternately with hot water. Stir in optional items. Turn into a greased loaf pan.

Bake at 325 for 1 hour and 10 minutes

P.S. I just didn't do any sifting, did not pre-mash bananas or beat the eggs - this recipe isn't very fussy!
